It would be really nice to have ISO images of the latest Firefox release (including dot releases) for the community to use. An example would be as a gift for the holidays, or to give to people who would rather have a CD or DVD than download.

If this is possible to automate, we could have a new directory called iso added to ftp://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/mozilla.org/firefox/releases/latest/
In that directory would be 3 separate iso images, one for mac, one for windows, and one for linux. Each image would have en-US as the default/auto run, and have all the other locales available in the same image.

This would be a wonderful enhancement for people spreading Firefox, if making those images can be automated.
Leaving a link to bug 415164 on how we did it for last year's release.
Moving to future as an enhancement.
Component: Release Engineering → Release Engineering: Future
I talked to John O. about this a few weeks ago and he said this might be doable in the near future... perhaps as soon as Q4. Is that still a possibility? Not sure what ETA comes with a "future enhancement" level of importance.
In bug#539750, lsblakk is doing a refresh and cleanup of the scripts that collate builds into CD-ready directory structures. She is also checking those scripts into hg, along with the rest of our automation scripts.

Once that deb.bug is fixed, generating ISO as part of each releases should be ready to tackle.
Depends on: 539750
