RESOLVED DUPLICATE of bug 477564

Details

User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 6.0; en-US; rv:1.9.1.2) Gecko/20090729 Firefox/3.5.2 (.NET CLR 3.5.30729)
Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 6.0; en-US; rv:1.9.1.2) Gecko/20090729 Firefox/3.5.2 (.NET CLR 3.5.30729)

"Not Responding" message appears for 30 to 60 seconds, then it goes away.
Then it happens again. Task Manager shows Firefox to be using 50% of CPU while this is going on, with Memory usage fluctuating by up to 24 MB each second, about once per second. Attempt to reproduce by bringing back IMDB table of My Movies, with 2200 movies, led to the error again -- and though Firefox kept running, I somehow lost my first attempt to report this error. But I'm not sure that this will always happen.

Reproducible: Sometimes

Steps to Reproduce:
1. went to IMDB
2. click on on My Movies (2207 in list, one 'page')
3. try to click a movie
Actual Results:
This time, when I tried to click, Firefox went to "Not Responding". When it came back a minute later, as usual for this error, it did not GO-TO the movie. I closed the window. And could not find my original report-window for this error.

Expected Results:
Error was produced.

If I left the tab available when I came back to report it, I expect that the error may have occurred, or may not, when I tried to click while in this tab.

I only thought about the "large table" issue after reading other Bug reports today, since my error was not always arising while looking at a large table. However, I usually have tabs open for both IMDB and Netflix, which both have some large pages. Another list of movies in IMDB is about half that size, and it is the one that is more often being visited at my IMDB tab.
Does the page have a large number (100+) of checkboxes, radio buttons or other form elements.
Yes. Each movie (2200+) can be checked.
This will be fixed in the upcoming 3.5.3 release expected around the first week of September.

My problem looks like a duplicate, in particular, of what Jason Frey describes in comment 49, on July 13 -- (1)the task does come back; (2)the task does go away again while looking at different pages with fewer checkboxes; (3) the CPU is high and memory is fluctuating per second.

Is there more than one problem? Is there a new problem?

Many of the comments do not report those features. Also, the original bug dates back to February 2, and I first experienced the problem this week after upgrading to Firefox 3.5.2.

Dates are not important. Versions are, you were likely on v 3.0.x till last week or so. Version 3.0.x did not have this issue.
