When you try to open a external url or a hmtl file with firefox running, he send a message box "Firefox is already running, but is not responding"
Reproducible: Always
Solution : tested under Windows XP
Rename your profilte name directory by %username%
and
edit path in profiles.ini
Summary: Firefox is already running, but is not responding with external URL or html file → "Firefox is already running, but is not responding" with external URL or html file and FF already run

I can confirm this problem when clicking on url links in thunderbird (with ff already open), the links don't open in FF and it returns the error message instead. However, it occurs unpredictably, and I don't see a pattern. At other times, it just works as it should.
There's a lot of bugs confirmed and unconfirmed around this, but many different aspects. I didn't see one covering this aspect, so -> NEW.

No, haven't seen this for a long time. Iirc this was a sleep and resume thing on laptop, and I'm mostly on desktop these days.
afaic, feel free to close this, we can reopen if necessary.
