1) Goto "www.google.com"

2) Enter keywords

3) Click "Google Search"

4) Nothing happens. No display of results. The bottom left shows that the browser navigates to www.google.com and it displays transferring from www.google.com, but nothing ever displays. 

Apparently a lot of folks are having this problem in the forums, but there are no solutions that have worked thus far. I have:

1) Cleared the cache - didn't help
2) Tried safe-mode - didn't help

However, using the firefox branded google search or even "I feel lucky" gets search results. Only www.google.com is impacted.

This works fine for me. Please try basic troubleshooting:

Tried each option, but I've still had no success. Its the same results each time. Enter the search term, click the button, but no search results are returned. It works fine under IE.
Reporter, are you still seeing this issue with Firefox 3.6.12 or later in safe mode? If not, please close. These links can help you in your testing.

Also, please consider using the most recent Firefox 4 beta build, your bug may be resolved there.

No reply, INCOMPLETE. Please retest with Firefox 3.6.13 or later and a new profile (http://support.mozilla.com/kb/Managing+profiles). If you continue to see this issue with the newest firefox and a new profile, then please comment on this bug.
