reports of where anti-phishing and malware blocking are saving users and websites
feel free to add your favorite story here. I've seen a few examples of this in the past few weeks. http://securitywatch.eweek.com/exploits_and_attacks/sophos_twitter_phishing_scam_lures_users_with_tinyurl.html http://www.gazettetimes.com/articles/2009/08/25/news/community/5loc09_bentonweb082509.txt see also bug 475510
I have first hand experience since my personal web site was targeted. I had no idea that my site had been hacked until I got the malware warning when I visited it. I then found a script had been injected into most pages. I don't know what the infection was or how it got there. That was the second time it was hacked. The first was easily evident since the page contents were overwritten.
Summary: reports of where anti-phishing and malware blocking are saving users. → reports of where anti-phishing and malware blocking are saving users and websites
This feature is now an old feature and there haven't been any updates since 2009. I guess it's ok to close this report but please send me a gun that I can shoot myself i the foot in case you still want this open.
