As part of re-organizing the bookmarks documentation to better match what SUMO visitors search, we need to review a draft article on methods of creating bookmarks.
Yeah, I think so. Mac screenshots are still needed, but otherwise am marking FIXED.
The last section could probably be omitted; your call.

- "Click the star icon again. The Edit Bookmark box will appear." is going to through people off, because the edit bookmark box appears after two clicks not one.
- "Fill in the fields in the Edit Bookmark box:" makes it sound like you have to manually set them, when in most cases the name is left alone.
- I've seen quite a few comments from those wanting to create a new folder when adding a bookmark, so we should cover the "New Folder" button that appears when expanding the folder selector.
- There's quite a bit of method overkill. (A million ways to accomplish the same task) Plus I think one of the easiest and most user-friendly ways is to drag and drop the favicon. So I think we can remove all of the "Other methods" (and maybe even the Bookmarks menu method).

(1) That's why I said "again," but we can be more explicit about needing two clicks.
(2) Good point. Will change.
(3) Ditto.
(4) I agree there are a lot of methods, but that was intentional. Look at the draft for "Bookmarks" (Bug 512864, http://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Bomarks). In the Contributors forum thread, we talked about making "Bookmarks" a parent article that gives an overview of Bookmarks in Firefox, and gives a single method for creating bookmarks (i.e. with the star), then links to this article for more methods. If you don't attach any value to documenting the various ways (a reasonable position), we can:
(a) Get rid of the section on how to use the star in the "Bookmarks" and just link to this article ("Creating Bookmarks").
(b) Keep this article with just the star instructions and keep the same content in "Bookmarks," but remove the link to this article from "Bookmarks." That way people would find this article if they searched.
(c) Keep this article with multiple methods, keep the star section in "Bookmarks," and keep the link to this article from "Bookmarks"
This same discussion applies to "Bookmark folders" (you already got rid of the multiple methods, I think) and "Organizing Bookmarks".

Sorry about that. I didn't look at the drafts. If the purpose of this article is to list all other ways to create a bookmark, then I don't think we need this article. We can rename the main article to something "What are Bookmarks and how do I use them" or "Introduction to Bookmarks".
I'm OK with making "Bookmarks" into "Introduction to Bookmarks" or whatever, but if we just document the star we're going to get "What is this star nonsense? Firefox used to be so simple I'm going back to IE I hate you all" comments (granted, we'll get those anyway).
You should probably post in the contributors forum thread though to see what others think, though. We can shelve this article for now and bring it back if we change our minds.

Wontfixing.
Again, sorry for not reading the discussion thoroughly enough Bo. I appreciate your understanding why this is a wontfix.
