FF 3.5.2 will open several pages OK then freezes with progress bar stalled

Started 2-3 weeks ago, XP PRO SP3 & FF3.5.1. Pages start loading OK then seems to worsen until stops loading with progress bar between 40 -80%. Frustrated, cannot use FF. Have deleted and reinstalled, same problem. Use webshots URL as test. 1st page wil load with numerous open items, no pics. will freeze on next page. Closed ZAlarm, no help.Exited all startups, no help. Can boot Ubuntu with FF3.0.13 and Win 7 RC with FF 3.5.2 with no problem. Using Ubuntu or Win 7 for serious surfing. Comcast download speed 21+ mb/s. Closed many XP services, no help.  HELP!

Steps to Reproduce:
1.Open any URL
2.May or maynot freeze with no web page or partial web page
3.Click refresh button may/may not show page

Computer has 2 IDE & 2 SATA hard drives.  XP on one SATA, Ubuntu on 1 IDE, WIN 7 RC on other IDE. Can select OS at start of boot. The problem has manifested itself in the last 2 - 3 weeks with auto XP updates.  All current updates are installed.
Can you please create a new Firefox profile, and see if it helps there? http://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Managing+profiles.
Also, make sure stuff like Flash, quicktime, adobe reader, etc. are all up to date with the latest version from the vender's websites.

Reporter, are you still seeing this issue with Firefox 3.6.13 or later in safe mode or a fresh profile? If not, please close. These links can help you in your testing.

No reply, INCOMPLETE. Please retest with Firefox 4 or later and a new profile (http://support.mozilla.com/kb/Managing+profiles). If you continue to see this issue with the newest firefox and a new profile, then please comment on this bug.
