User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.9.1.2) Gecko/20090729 Firefox/3.5.2 (.NET CLR 3.5.30729) Build Identifier: version 2.0.0.23 (20090812) When we set in preferences as - Leave a copy in server and hide the folder where mails are stored locally (we hide to avoid deletion/alteration by human error) - same mail will be downloaded continuously till we delete it from mail server (thru webmail). If we unhide the store folder then this problem is not there. I feel this is bug. And it does not happen with other clients such as outlook & outlook express. Thanks. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1.Set preferences as "leave a copy in server" 2.hide the store folder where mails are locally stored 3. send yourself a test mail and same mail will be delivered continuously till we delete mail from mail server. Expected Results: Software should download mail only once.

It seems similar or dupe of bug #388062
Hello It happened to me as well. I solved the problem by 1. DELETING the "Mail" folder, in: C:\Documents and Settings\<username>\Application Data\Thunderbird\Profiles\<should be only folder>\ 2. Re creating an EMPTY "Mail" folder. Thunderbird created all files again and problem stopped. (I posted the same reply on bug #388062) Thank you.
