User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; U; Intel Mac OS X 10.5; en-US; rv:1.9.1.2) Gecko/20090729 Firefox/3.5.2 Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; U; Intel Mac OS X 10.5; en-US; rv:1.9.1.2) Gecko/20090729 Firefox/3.5.2 If Firefox crashes during a private session, when it comes back up, the main (non-private) session is restored. So any work done during the private browsing session is lost. Honestly, without some kind of encryption, I'm not sure of a safe way to handle this, since private browsing, by definition, should not record anything. But still, an annoying problem. Reproducible: Always

Unfortunately, you can't have both here -- either you should let the browser save your session, or you should tell it not to. This is by design.
