saved search results doubled, i.e. each message appears twice. but search messages results shows each message hit only once. search criteria: search entire imap account (subfolders) match any to or cc contains addy1 to or cc contains addy2 ... from contains addy1 from contains addy2 ... subject contains <something that would also result in hit from the above conditions> click search I see one hit per message save as <whatever> online is unchecked click on virtual folder I see two hits for every message in Inbox, one message per hits that are in other folders Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.9.1.4pre) Gecko/20090831 Shredder/3.0b4pre

I was not able to reproduce this. It would be good if you could narrow down the requirements some more. Like, do you really need all of those search terms (I doubt it)? What is the folder structure required to reproduce this? Can you reproduce this on a new profile, with a minimum of folders and messages?
gets stranger - now the message count is triple. different PC, similar profile, copied the .msf saved search file, similar results - messages are doubled except for messages that are NOT in inbox. This profile has no other virtual folders (which is what I thought might be the problem). This profile was not copied from the other PC - the common denominator is the imap account. I actually need all the search terms to get the precise results.
sent imap log to rkent. folder is from vista machine (to where I had copied the .msf). online is enabled.
on vista, took inbox out of the list of folders to search. results as expected. put inbox back in the list of folders. now, no duplicates are listed in the saved search results

That can also be seen in the .msf file that Wayne sent to me privately. So the question is, how did that happen? Any ideas, or better yet repeatable STR to doubly add a folder to a virtual folder definition?
I haven't seen this in ages. HOwever, I also dont know that the problem is gone. :(

Same problem as originally reported. I created a new virtual against my wsm0 account at work. (not done this in a while) For a virtual and a search with the same search criteria (age < 14, excluding subject contains "logwatch") messages "unread" virtual 300 26 search 169 21 All messages from inbox are doubled afaict. No messages from other folders are doubled. Virtual folder targeting inbox only has the contents perfectly correct. I see that inbox imap://wsm0@mail.lehigh.edu/INBOX is listed twice in virtualfolders.dat

xref Bug 707730. however, Inbox is not hashed. And the only hashed name (my lovely #news folder) isn't in the virtual folder's search list) I am not able to reproduce this on home PC for same account. advanced server settings are almost the same - work PC lacks "" in the namespace fields.
