514145 - Cannot delete or rename email folders

For some reason I cannot delete or rename email folders.  I try all the usual operations, right click press delete etc and the item vanishes.  However when I next log on the folders have re-appeared.



Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1.Right click on folder, select delete.

Actual Results:  
The folder vanishes.  However when I next open Thunderbird it's back.

Expected Results:  
Delete the folder

Reporter it seems a dupe of bug #343196: you can confirm?

No.  I can delete individual emails no problem, what I can't do is to delete the folders.  I now have hundreds of folders with nothing in them that I can't get rid of.

As workaround try this:
1. close TB;
2. go to your profile folder in Mail folder;
3. search your account folder(or go to in "Local folder" folder if you use him);
4. delete the files that are releted at folders that you want delete: for example if you want delete folder UNDELETABLE, delete file UNDELETABLE and UNDELETABLE.msf


For us should be better if you can test if this happens also with latest beta 
http://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/mozilla.org/thunderbird/nightly/latest-comm-1.9.1/ 

But if you don't want to use beta releases, can try with workaround above

Dear Aureliano Buendía,

Thanks for your advice, but I can't make any sense of it.  If I close Thunderbird I return to the desktop.  There is nothing on there marked 'Mail Folder'.

Where is 'Mail folder' to be found?
