Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.9.1.4pre) Gecko/20090902 SeaMonkey/2.0b2pre - Build ID: 20090902002520 When opening feed messages (from the "News & Blogs" section in the mailer) in the Preview Pane or in a tab, only the Subject line appears where the content ought to be. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Make sure you are subscribed to one or more RSS/Atom feeds by means of "News & Blogs" in the mailer. 2. Double-click a feed item in the Threads pane --- It opens in its own window, usually with full HTML display. This is normal. 2bis. Close or minimize the Message windo to get back at the 3-pane window 3. Middle-click the same item. --- Expected result: same display as above, but in a new tab in the same window --- Actual result: A new tab opens, containing only the feed item's "Subject" line where the content ought to be. 3bis. Go back to 3-pane tab (by clicking on it, or by closing the tab opened at step 3) 4. Open the preview pane (hit F8 if necessary) --- Expected result: same content as after 2 above (full display) --- Actual result: same content as after 3 above (only the Subject) Additional info: I noticed this bug in the 2009-09-01 nightly (the first SeaMonkey with "tabbed mailer") and it is still present today.

Not an issue in Thunderbird this is most likely to do with the new tabmail that SeaMonkey has.
Component: Feed Reader → MailNews: General
Product: MailNews Core → SeaMonkey
QA Contact: feed.reader → mail
Version: 1.9.1 Branch → Trunk

(In reply to comment #1) > Not an issue in Thunderbird this is most likely to do with the new tabmail that > SeaMonkey has. Could this be related to the checkbox which appears in the "Add" dialog when subscribing to a new feed from the mailer (3-pane) window? [ ] Show the article's Summary instead of loading the web page I just noticed this checkbos when doing seamonkey -no-remote -ProfileManager -mail followed by creating a new profile, using it, and subscribing to some feeds with it. Hoho, something new: - With hja's blog http://lockshot.wordpress.com/feed/ I get the article but in plaintext (no images, framing, sidebar, "possibly related posts", or comments) - With KaiRo's blog http://home.kairo.at/?d=w&i=1&m=v&c=rss I get only the Subject. - In both cases they open with full display when opened in a window.

In reply to comment #2 Blogs & News Feeds => Manage Subscriptions => (select a feed) => Edit => uncheck the box -- no change.

Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.9.1.7pre) Gecko/20091211 Lightning/1.0b2pre SeaMonkey/2.0.2pre - Build ID: 20091211001833 Depending on the particular feed, the results vary somewhat, but are practically always wrong, unless opened in a new window. In most cases it looks as if the parser wa ignoring CSS when viewing in a MailNews pane or tab.

Summary: Incorrect display of feed items when opened in the preview pane or in a mailer tab (only Subject is shown) → Feed items subscribed in the Mailer lose their styles when opened in a tab or in the preview pane

Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.9.1.9pre) Gecko/20100310 SeaMonkey/2.0.4pre - Build ID: 20100310005457 I just noticed the menu "View => Show Message Body As =>" with the following submenu: Web Page * Summary Default Format where (I don't know why) "Summary" was set. Clicking "Web Page" made the problem disappear. Don't know if this counts as WORKSFORME. (The defaults ought to be sensible.)
