Followed protocol to upgrade browser. Firefox will not launch. Rebooted system and tried again. Firefox.exe appeared briefly on Windows Task Manager processes list, then disappeared. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Reboot system 2. Click Firefox icon 3. Actual Results: Firefox does not launch. Nothing happens. Expected Results: This upgrade should have started - exactly as did the Firefox 3X upgrade which immediately preceeded it. The previous version worked with my Norton Internet Security firewall without a hitch. No error messages appear; icons behave like they are dead links. I am forced to use IE against my will to prepare this report!
If you start Firefox safe mode, will it start? http://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Safe+Mode

"Tried starting in safe mode. It works - but, of course, all add-ons have been disabled. What now?" (sent to me by reporter) reporter, please post all comments on the bug so all developers can see them. If it start, an addon is causing this. Please disable them one by one. and report to the one that is.

Resolution: --- → INVALID
I was able to launch Firefox in safe mode. I exited and tried to restart in normal mode. Upon exit, something finished downloading or configuring. It happened too quickly for me to glimpse what my computer was doing. Firefox launched into regular mode just fine. My themes and add-ons compatible with version 3.5x are working too. Not only did Firefox start, it is launching and browsing *much* more quickly than its predecessor version. We might be done with this issue!
Resolution: INVALID → FIXED
