Thunderbird can be started with the command-line argument -compose along with other parameters to populate a message, but the message cannot be sent from the command line. Please include a switch to allow sending of the message from the command line. This would allow TB to be used in scripts for administrative alerts, etc.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Start TB with command-line argument -compose and appropriate parameters
2. TB new message window opens pre-populated with parameters
3. Requires clicking Send to send.
Actual Results:
TB opens with message window up. Click on Send to send message.

Expected Results:
Add another parameter (e. g., -send) for use with -compose to send the message without opening the GUI.
Can't you use mapi to achieve this ?
I would like to have all sent mail stored in my Sent mail folder, even mail sent by scripts.
Severity: normal → S3
