The current spawnff thing scales worse than ruby on rails, so I've decided we should use Gearman to distribute the firefox load. It's pretty much memcached for multiprocessing, created by Danga. Some words from the homepage: Gearman provides a generic application framework to farm out work to other machines or processes that are better suited to do the work. It allows you to do work in parallel, to load balance processing, and to call functions between languages. Shyam, can you let us know if you have any reservations before I start working on this? Thanks.
