There are still some windows whose are displayed like new windows in TB 3 Beta 3. They should be displayed as new tab too. Not only reading a massage. I mean:

- Search window
- Compose window

Reproducible: Always
please search before you file a bug

compose in tab : bug 449299

search window: nobody asked it before, but I don't think that all windows should be converted to tabs. There are also non-modal dialogs.
OK, I mean only Compose and Search at this time.
Morphing summary per comment #1 and comment #2: opening compose window in a new tab is bug 449299, so the remaining rfe is opening "search messages" dialogue in a new tab. Which I think is a valid rfe. If we re-arrange the top section of that dialogue, we'll not even loose much vertical space by putting this into a tab.
Status: UNCONFIRMED → NEW
Ever confirmed: true
Summary: Display truly all windows as new tab → Display "Search messages" in new tab
I would be disappointed if Search Messages were forced into a new tab.
Severity: minor → enhancement
Component: Message Compose Window → Search
QA Contact: message-compose → search

...but Wayne is also "actually open to the possibility" if we do it right (bug 258371, comment #12). Perhaps we can make it a pref.

Having "Search messages" in a tab will also work well with the following RFE:
Bug 258371: Advanced "Search Messages" results should have a message preview pane
