I have now rebooted several times and the computer ran overnight for a long download. Everything is working as it did before 3.5.3.
Alias: luvntravln@gmail.com
Did you install anything in the new profile, make preference changes, etc? I see no issue with Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 6.1; en-US; rv:1.9.3a1pre) Gecko/20090917 Minefield/3.7a1pre (.NET CLR 3.5.30729) ID:20090917041912

No I did not change anything in the new profile. I only used the defaults that were set when I created the new profile.

To be clear, my first attempt to solve the problem was to delete the default profile and create a new profile - luvntravln - accepting all of the defaults. That worked properly for one day and then started to delete the cookies upon exit.

I then deleted 3.5.3 completely including the left-over folders in Program Files and User/Jay Gould etc.

Finally I installed 3.0.14 which I am using now without any problems. I am using all defaults; no add-ons etc and no special preference changes.

My memory is that 3.5.2 also worked without a problem. Frankly, while I would like to run a test and load 3.5.2 as a second copy accepting all of the "stuff" from 3.0.14, I am concerned that I will wind up having to reload 3.0.14 again while I wait for 3.5.4 or later.

Can I run more than one version to accomplish this test?

I have the same problem.
Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 6.0; de; rv:1.9.1.3) Gecko/20090824 Firefox/3.5.3 (.NET CLR 3.5.30729)
Is this also an issue in Firefox 3.6 or 4.0?
Reporter, please retest with Firefox 3.6.12 or later in a fresh profile (http://support.mozilla.com/kb/Managing+profiles).
