This bug (?) may have existed for a few beta builds, but I have only just begun testing with a saved Search Folder.
I tag messages, e.g. "To do", "Next magazine A release", "Next magazine B release" etc.
I search messages belonging to a certain group like this:
- Ctrl+F
- settings:
* Search for messages in Local Folders
* Search subfolders checked
* use indexed search UNchecked (because indexed search does not work, see Bug 515482)
* Match all of the following: Tags contain "To do"
- click on Search
This finds the messages w/o problems. Then I click on Save as Search Folder, giving it the name "To Do", create as a subfolder of "Local Folders", leaving everything else at default, and click on OK.
Now I have a Saved Search folder under Local Folders named "To Do", which works beautifully.
Only, once I a while, the messages aren't found any more. I get fewer results than I expect, or no results at all. The only thing that resides is to go through the whole process of recreating the Saved Search folder again.
Anyone an idea what is going on?
If you need more info, I'm glad to assist.

Would you mind testing this in the latest Thunderbird (http://releases.mozilla.org/pub/mozilla.org/thunderbird/releases/3.0b4/)? This is likely a problem there and not so much in Penelope. Thunderbird will look at the same data as Eudora does.
Thanks, Matt

If you are able to reproduce this, please try try to reproduce it in Thunderbird 3.0.1 (http://www.mozillamessaging.com/en-US/thunderbird/). If the problem is present in Thunderbird please file a bug against Thunderbird. If the problem is NOT present in Thunderbird please let me know or re-open the bug here.
Thanks, Matt
