The only way I can navigate is to click on a bookmark. Thank heavens I can still use Safari until this problemo is fixed. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1.Start Firefox 2.Try to type in address bar 3.There is no type
Almost certainly caused by a bogus add-on you installed. Try: http://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Troubleshooting+extensions+and+themes
Severity: normal → major
Version: unspecified → 3.5 Branch
You've fixed this already? That was really really quick. Thank you!! I had tried re-booting etc and nothing worked....but now it's up and running agina. THANKS!!
So it was caused by a bad add-on? If so, please tell us which one and what version and then report it to the author of that add-on.
I am having this exact same problem in 3.5.3. I have already tried running in safe mode, and same problem. Have tried uninstalling Google Toolbar, same problem. Until now, Firefox has been so trouble-free. Now, with 3.5.3, I keep having problems and having to roll back to earlier versions. What's going on, Mozilla?!?
My Father is having the same issue. He upgraded to 3.5.3 from a previous version and experienced the same problem, ie. cannot type into google, cannot type into address bar and cannot open menus. Removed the entire installation including profile and installed a fresh copy with the same result. Implies to me that even if it was a bogus add-on originally then something has now permanently changed on Windows, either the registry or system files. Any ideas would be much appreciated.
I have just started having the same issue with Firefox 3.5.5. I have restarted the browser in safe mode and the issue recurs, so it's probably NOT related to bad add-on. As a corollary, CMD+L, which used to give focus to the location bar, now opens the location drop-down (akin to the default behavior for Ctrl+L in IE under Windows).
all of these issues are caused by a bad install a corrupt profile or an add-on, contact support at http://support.mozilla.org/ please
