User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (OS/2; U; Warp 4.5; en-US; rv:1.8.1.23) Gecko/20090827 MultiZilla/1.8.3.5g SeaMonkey/1.1.18 (PmW) Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (OS/2; U; Warp 4.5; en-US; rv:1.8.1.23) Gecko/20090827 MultiZilla/1.8.3.5g SeaMonkey/1.1.18 (PmW) Example email fetched via POP3 with 20 small attachments. Right-clicking attachment pane and selecting "Save all..." results in multiple Download Manager windows opening (though not necessarily one for every attachment). Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Select an email with multiple attachments. 2. Right-click attachment pane & select "Save all..." 3. Select destination directory & click OK. Actual Results: Multiple Download Manager windows populate the desktop. Expected Results: Single Download Manager instance (window) should be opened, and files should be saved sequentially. I have not yet tested this on other platforms or under Thunderbird. As soon as I am able, I shall do so and follow up on this bug. Perhaps it should be moved from a Download Manager issue to MailNews; I can't say. Preliminary searching didn't come up with anything similar. I'm also not sure whether this affects other platforms or whether it may be specific to my profile or an extension (though I have no installed extensions to alter download handling).
I should add that while I am reporting this from the above build, I have seen this for several revisions, both "official" and Peter's builds.
Lewis, thanks for the report. Is this something new with 1.1.18 that you haven't seen with previous 1.1.x versions? (I cannot think how the differences between .17 and .18 could account for this problem.) It would also be great if you could test SM 2.0 beta 2 or the latest 2.0pre nightly build. You can find both linked on <http://www.mozilla.org/ports/os2/>.

Actually, I think I misunderstood the bug report. This is working as designed, and depends on the settings in your profile, under Edit -> Preferences -> Navigator -> Downloads. If you only want a single window open per download, select "Open the download manager" instead of "Open a progress dialog". This applies to downloads from the browser as well as mail attachments.
Thanks for following up, Peter. I do indeed have "Open the download manager" set, which is why I am surprised at seeing multiple copies, unless it's profile corruption. I will test on a clean profile, and will follow up.
Sincere apologies. This was indeed profile corruption. Creating a new profile, and using the "Open the download manager" option, behaves as expected (I suppose; the last file of a multi-file save is listed, but not the other files). Only one window opens. Thanks for following up, Peter, and again, apologies for the bug spam. Lewis
