In the latest trunk build of Seamonkey (2.1a1pre, 20090321013626), if something is typed into a field and it is then highlighted by holding in the shift key and holding the left arrow, the highlighting can't be cleared by pressing the (unshifted) left arrow. It does work properly if it's highlighted by using the right arrow, using shift-home or shift-end, or using the mouse. It works properly in the current 1.1.18 release.

OK, maybe it's Seamonkey-specific. I see it on web forms, proxy authentication dialog, and about:config.
