Using the latest mozilla/Netscape 6 with java plugins, the sun.net portal is not accessible. I get the initial login screen. After typing in the user id and pressing return, nothing happens. The browser was hung and had to explictly kill the browser processes.

Tried with Netscape PR3 packages (10/31/2000) with FCS bits of Java Plugin 1.3.0_01 on Solaris 2.8 On clicking on Login it does popup a Certificate. But after accepting that certificate, nothing happended. But then It did not hang the browser. I could go back using "Back" button.
The problem has been found. Our Netscape 6 PR3 has problems with SSL (secure socket layer), when working with certain web servers that do not understand v3.1 and reject such connections. The Java Web Server v2.0 is one such web server. The fix is to use PSM 1.4. With this version of PSM, there is the ability (via the Advanced -> Options panel in the Security Manager) to disable TLS (Transport Security Layer). This then allows Netscape 6 to successfully run this Sun application. This fix will be in our next release.
