Currently, if there is a problem with HTML5 video, an X displays over the video. This relates something is wrong, but gives no useful information about what the error is or how to fix it. A better message would relate what went wrong possibly how to fix it. Detectable error messages in video (according to http://dolske.net/mozilla/tests/video/tests.html ): - Video source is 404 (autoplay and non-autoplay) - Video source on nonexistant host (autoplay and not) - Cross-domain video permission denied - Error decoding media type - Corrupted media
