518396 - gallery thinks some users don't have extension though they do

Some users in the discussion forum report that the gallery thinks they don't have the extension even though they do, which makes the gallery broken for them, since instead of allowing them to "wear this" persona it tells them to download the extension on every persona detail page.

It's not clear to me what the problem is: it could be in the gallery itself, the extension, Firefox, or another extension, since the mechanism for detecting the extension is a CheckPersonas event that bubbles up from the gallery to the extension, which then sets an attribute in the gallery.

I'm filing this in the Websites product, getpersonas.com component for now, since the gallery is where users notice the problem, but we should move this as appropriate once we figure out what's going on.

I haven't seen anyone mention anything along these lines in ages, and since Personas is built into Firefox now anyhow it shouldn't be a problem.  Closing.
