This is a BAD bug. I lost 10+ saved search folders. Why would those be deleted? If thunderbird 3 cannot support those saved folders for whatever reason, it should either migrate them or leave them untouched so that i can go back to thunderbird 2 and still keep them.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Create Saved Search folders (Mine was at the top level, on inbox).
2.
3.
Actual Results:
Lost all the saved search folders as soon as i opened/logged into tb 3 beta 4

Expected Results:
NEVER delete/corrupt stuff, especially without the users knowledge!!!
TB 3 doesn't have any known problems supporting TB 2 saved searches, and it tries to ignore saved searches it can't parse. Without getting more info about your saved searches, it's hard to make progress here, though I understand if you're reluctant to try to recreate this.

The saved searches are stored in a file at the root of your user profile directory, in a file called virtualFolders.dat
mohan, do you find the virtualFolders.dat file?

I couldn't reproduce it. I still have the tags, so i created a couple of saved search folders and i can access them between 2 and the beta.

I tried a downloaded an older beta version by mistake just before downloading this one. May be i lost the folders when i opened up that one. Sorry for the confusion. You can close this bug.
thanks. please reopen if you encoutner issue again
