Details

User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; U; Intel Mac OS X 10_6_1; en-us) AppleWebKit/531.9 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/4.0.3 Safari/531.9 Build Identifier: 8.0b7 (Penelope/Eudora) I had posted about the recipient's name, rather than the sender's name, appearing in the Who column in 8.0b7, and received instructions to change it. So, I was happy with 8.0b7, UNTIL I realized that almost any keyboard shortcut like CMD-A, CMD-S, CMD-C, CMD-V, as well as input from Textpander (for example: btu => BTU) would not take effect in my messages (in the case of Textpander expansions, I could hear the background "pop" sound, but there was no change to the message). Also, compound keying to get non-ASCII characters (like OPT-E followed by E for é) did not work, although I saw that they did appear in the sent message (???) if not on my screen. So, I have downgraded back to 8.0b6 once again. So far, the only thing that seems not to work in 8.0b6 is CMD-R for re-wrap text. I can live with that. In case it is not clear, I was able to get the operations done (cut, paste, select all, etc.) by manually invoking the commands from the drop-down menus. Oh, I just remembered that the arrow keys do not work in 8.0b7, either. Thanks, --Steve (Eudora user since 1994) Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1.try to ender CMD-C, CMD-V, CMD-R, arrow keys, multiple key entry for non-ASCII chars. 2.works from menu, but not from keyboard 3.replacing text abbreviations with Textpander does not work, either. Works fine in 8.0b6 Actual Results: Nada. Zilch. Nichevo. Expected Results: Copy, Paste, Re-wrap, etc. I had used Eudora for so many many years, and was so content with it until it stopped sending messages unless it was re-started. Just queued them up, but would not send. Then, if I quit and re-started the app., all the messages went. So, I found 8.0bx, and I wish that I could make it work because, for all its faults, I still prefer it to Mac Mail.
