I had thesame problem as file 284099. lost bookmarks after up-dating a few days. I reset some of them but when i had to restart my pc all the bookmarks where gone again. This happen a few times. had to uninstall and reinstall 3.0.1 . That was all bookmarks not just high level or letter groups. Ever time I restarted my pc. Luckly I imported all to IE favorites and  back again. Now using 3.0.1 but with the watch dog thing for passwords. I will try a new download and install. Eitherway it goes I will get back to you.

Hi, marking this as duplicate of bug 284099. 

Also you are using a very old version of firefox (3.0.1) so i recommend (also for security reasons) to install the latest version of Firefox 3.0.x (Firefox 3.0.14) or Firefox 3.5.3, thanks !
