"sharedobj.dll" This dll is not part of Firefox and it's the cause of the crash. This dll could be from a trojan infection on your system as a google search indicates. Please read https://developer.mozilla.org/en/How_to_get_a_stacktrace_for_a_bug_report and post a crash ID BTW: Why do you reported this as Thunderbird bug if this is a Firefox one ?

I thought I was reporting for FireFox. Form wasn't clear. Anyway, I completely uninstalled Frefox, to include settings, removed sharedobj.dll from system32 (this was being regenerated to the directory every time I restarted FireFox), reinstalled and am no longer having the issue. It would be nice if you added a facility to backup and/or export configuration settings as you can do for bookmarks.

Firefox itself doesn't put this file in the directory. I really think you have a malware issue on your system if the file gets recreated every time. maybe the malware installed an addon in Firefox and it would be enough to just uninstall all extensions but parts of this malware could be still on your system. I would ask in a malware help Forum if the file reappears. marking invalid because this is not a bug in Firefox
