After filling in the Cyrillic IDN URL into the location bar and pressing "Enter" Firefox changes the Cyrillic URL into incomprehensible "xn--" form. For example,  domain http://домены.внаем.su turns into http://xn--d1acufc5f.xn--80adk2ac.su/. But the domain should stay http://домены.внаем.su.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Fill in the Cyrillic IDN URL into the location bar
2. Press ENTER
3. The Cyrillic IDN URL turns into "xn--" form.
Actual Results:  
http://xn--d1acufc5f.xn--80adk2ac.su/

Expected Results:  
http://домены.внаем.su

You can work around this by adding a new boolean pref in about:config, network.IDN.whitelist.su, and setting it to true.

I don't know if there are any plans to add .su (or other Cyrillic TLDs which may be more active since .su is theoretically obsolete) to the default whitelist.

Well there are proposed domain zones in cyrillic like .бг still not official but also sites with cyrillic domains like сайт.com are not readable no matter what the domain is.

In order for IDNs to work in a particular TLD, the TLD has to be added to our whitelist:
http://www.mozilla.org/projects/security/tld-idn-policy-list.html

The registry for .su is more than welcome to apply. Please contact them and encourage them to do so. Send them the link to the page above, which explains what to do.

сайт.com does not work because Verisign have not applied to have .com added to the IDN TLD whitelist. Again, you may wish to contact them and encourage them to apply.

The fact is Verisign doesn't need to apply to you. You need to adapt to what Verisign does in .com
