It is impossible to select parts of any text filed in the latest mozilla.
This includes but is not limited to,
	URL Location Bar,
	TextAreas in HTML
	INPUT type=text in HTML

When you attempt to select a _region_ of text by using either the mouse or shift
& arrow keys mozilla selects all the text in the text filed.

Don't know if this is linked or a separate bug but you cannot navigate textareas
with <ctrl>+(up|down|home|end) (ctrl+left|right) work
This should be fixed in today's nightly, marking dupe of bug 51856
