Details
User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.9.1.3) Gecko/20090824 Firefox/3.5.3
Build Identifier: version 2.0.0.22 (20090605)
When opening a tagged message in the inbox, the tag appears below the other headers. When opening the same message in a saved search, the tag does not appear. Shortcut keys and such still seem to work, it's just not displaying the tag.
Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1. Tag a message
2. Include message in saved search
3. Open message when viewed through saved search
Actual Results:
Tag is not visible in message (between other headers and body)
Expected Results:
Tag is visible in message
Corrections:
1) The tag shortcuts do not work correctly. Only un-tag (the zero key) works.
2) The "Tag" menu button dropdown is empty
Yes, the same thing happens when starting TB using -safe-mode

and any error messages in Tools -> Error console ?
And is the issue still present if you use Thunderbird 3.0b4 (just to make sure this is not a 2.0 only issue)
Wow, all these things I had no idea were there... "safe mode" and now "error console".
Yes, I get these when viewing the email through a saved search:
hdr >X-Tags< val>...<
hdr >X-Tags< val>work<
hdr >X-Tags< val>friends<
hdr >X-Tags< val>family<
hdr >X-Categories< val>...<
hdr >X-Categories< val>cleanjokes<
hdr >X-Categories< val>rudejokes<
Then I get this when dropping down the "Tag" menu
Error: uncaught exception: [Exception... "Component returned failure code: 0x80004003 (NS_ERROR_INVALID_POINTER) [nsIMsgDBView.hdrForFirstSelectedMessage]" nsresult: "0x80004003 (NS_ERROR_INVALID_POINTER)" location: "JS frame :: chrome://messenger/content/mailWindowOverlay.js :: InitMessageTags :: line 626" data: no]
I'm not sure about TB 3.0b4. I don't want to mess up my email by using a beta version. How can I do this in a safe way? Or is there anyone else out there with a version 3.0b4 who can try this?

You can do that by using a new profile , see http://www.mozilla.org/support/thunderbird/profile , hence you can have a production profile and a test profile.
I'm not sure I would see the issue - hence the fact that we are asking you.
I installed TB 3.0b4 and as far as I can tell it does not have this problem

Thanks for testing Mattias. resolving WFM. This won't be fixed on 2.x branch as that version is in maintainance mode and only gets security updates.

Now it's working again. I have absolutely no idea why, and I'm still on the same version. Interesting.
