Due to fix for bug #509671 the Thunderbird does not show icon for delete button.

Presumably you're on about the 3.1a1pre builds and not the 3.0pre builds - as bug 509671 hasn't gone in on 1.9.1.

How will this patch affect the 3.0 builds?

There should be no affect for previous version (3.0). However it may land with bug #509671 because it is not going to demonstrate before applying #509671.
