On Mac OS 10.6 the build process errors out on jsapi.o / jsarena.o
That is when building Camino trunk (2.1a1pre) using GCC 4.2 and 10.5 SDK. The same compiled/SDK setup used to build successfully on Mac OS 10.5...
It also builds successfully using GCC 4.0 and 10.5 SDK.

Those build errors are the same as flagged by Al Billings in bug 477945 comment 21 and down

smichaud says josh has been working on this and knows more about it, so ccing him on the bug to make sure he knows about it.
Cross-compiling on 10.6 to x86 is not supported on 1.9.0. IIRC 1.9.0 is at least missing the fix for bug 269538 (more discussion on bug 470071), maybe more. That's all I really know about what the problem might be.

Is there a reason why bug 269538 was never landed on 1.9.0?
If you're asking me, I don't know. You should talk to the people responsible for the fix (bsmedberg or js people) if you want it. Seems unlikely we'd take a patch that big on 1.9.0 though.

bsmedberg: can you help with comment 4, or anything else here? It's probably not critical from a being-able-to-continue-Camino-development perspective (yet), but could perhaps become more important as time goes on without a usable build process for Camino on 1.9.3 or comm-central.

It would require backporting the whole JS build system (separate configure) which just isn't going to happen.

Also, figuring out a way to build Camino against mozilla-central is probably time better spent. A solution there would likely let you build against any of 1.9.{1,2,3}. 1.9.0 is going to become an unsupported branch in a matter of months anyway.

Sounds like a WONTFIX based on comment 7, then.
