Since an update form Shredder over October first week, it doesn't start with the lightning plugin installed. I've to remove manually in order to run Shredder

I've installed lightning pluggin from nightly build (http://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/mozilla.org/calendar/lightning/nightly/latest-comm-1.9.1/macosx-xpi/)

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Install lighntning plugin from nightly build
2. Restart Shredder
3.
Actual Results:
Shredder doesn't start

Expected Results:
Shredder appears

If I run the Monitor Activity, I notice Shredder is eating resources up to 99%

Could you try this with a new profile? This works for me. If you manage to start up, please check the error console.
Daniel, does a current Lightning build works in a Shredder build from September?

I think I saw something about changes in the Mac OS X Thunderbird build configuration. Could this cause Thunderbird and Lightning be incompatible on binary level?
Hi,

Philipp:
Do you mean a new Shredder or Mac profile?

Stefan:
I don't know. I have my email inside Shredder and will prefer to not change to a previous Shredder version (if I can...)

I'm trying different nightly build lightning add-on with no luke.

I think is so important a good integration between Thunderbird and lightning 'cause if we want to replace a email client, we will need a calendar tool.

Currently I'm trying to move Outlook to Thunderbird where I'm working... ;-)
A new shredder profile, please :)
Hi Philipp. How can I create a new profile without lose my data? Just renaming my current profile?

Regards
Well, I'm suggesting you create a new shredder profile, keeping your old data in the other profile. This way we can find out if the profile is just borked, or it is maybe a problem with Lightning specifically. If things work with a new profile, you can migrate the data manually, Google knows how to do this. Just renaming your profile doesn't bring any changes, as the profile contents are the same.

To open the profile manager, start shredder with -P
Hi,

Since removing the lightning plugin (manually) form extension folder makes Shredder works, it seems clear the problem is when I have Shredder + lightning plugin. I don't understand how use a new profile can help to sort it out. The plugin is just installed inside his folder, isn't it?

Anyway I will try to use another Shredder profile... May the Force be with me....
I can't create a new profile....

I've moved my profile to my Desktop and when I run Shredder appears the following error:

"Close Thunderbird

A copy of Thunderbird is already open. Only one copy of Thunderbird can be open at a time"

I've checked on my monitor system and I don't have running any Thunderbird instance.... So weird...
To run with a new Profile, it is mandatory to maintain the codified.default profile folder

With a new profile it works.... I've tried to copy older into newer profile but then it doesn't start...

So what I have to do? Import data?
Hi,

Finally I get it work!! I've copied Mail folder, prefs.js, abook.mab and globla-messagesdb.sqlite files and I get my old mail...

What it happen now is a misconfiguration on the toolbar... some icons (delete, forward, reply...) has disappeared...

Regards
Finally I found the bug!!!!

My local.sqlite file inside calenda-data!!! If I copy my old (5,5 MB) file, it hangs Thunderbird!!

Does anybody has idea to try to fix this file?
sqlite3 local.sqlite "VACUUM" doesn't work... :-(
Then you probably have a large number of events and it will just take a while, or the consequences of bug 494140 happen to you. Check the cal_alarms table, if you have many duplicate rows there than actual alarms then cleaning them up might help. In the patch to bug 494140 there is an sql line that can clean up the events automatically, you need to:

* create a backup of your local.sqlite
* create a table cal_alarms_temp with the same structure as cal_alarms
* execute the SQL from the patch, something similar to:
   INSERT INTO cal_alarms_temp (column,names,here)
   SELECT DISTINCT column,names,here FROM cal_alarms
* delete cal_alarms
* rename cal_alarms_temp to cal_alarms

Please double check the SQL.

Marking this bug as WFM for lack of alternatives, as I believe its either a known performance issue or the above mentioned issue.

That's right. I've 25501 rows.... I've removed the table and now it works... Thanks..
