Currently, Thunderbird allows the user to customize the toolbar with buttons that change function based on the first message selected out of one or more selected messsages. For example:

* If the first message is unread, clicking the "Mark" button marks all selected messages as read; but if the first message is marked read, clicking the "Mark" button marks all selected messages as unread.

* If the first message is not marked as junk, the toolbar button is labeled "Junk"; but if the first message is marked junk, the toolbar button toggles to "Not Junk."

* The "File" button provides a submenu of accounts, with submenus of folders, so a message can be sorted into a folder with several clicks.

However, it might be helpful to have dedicated "mark read," "mark unread," "junk" and "not junk" buttons that never change purpose or toggle. Therefore, when selecting multiple messages, it would be possible to mark all of them as read, unread, junk or not junk independent of the status of the first selected messages.

It might also be helpful to be able to add toolbar buttons dedicated to filing items into specific user-specified folders -- into my "work" folder, into my "fax" folder, into my "urgent" folder, etc. This would make it possible to sort items into a user's most commonly used folder destinations with one click, rather than several. This would be similar to how the dedicated "Delete" button always files items to Trash, or the dedicated "Archive" button always files items to a folder specified in Account Settings > Copies & Folders.

Reproducible: Always
Component: Mail Window Front End → Toolbars and Tabs

I would like to confirm the above that these would be very helpful. If there can be a button for "move to" and "select all" This will make it faster/easier to use Thunderbird combined with reports requests
oh yeah im using Ubuntu Linux build if that differs from Windows for this fix
Should this bug be "confirmed" i am unable to change it since i didn't report it and I'm not authorized to change status on Mozilla bug tracker
