User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 6.0; en-US; rv:1.9.1.3) Gecko/20090824 Firefox/3.5.3 (.NET CLR 3.5.30729) Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 6.0; en-US; rv:1.9.1.3) Gecko/20090824 Firefox/3.5.3 (.NET CLR 3.5.30729) Firefox 3.5.3, IE & ZA Forcefield don't gel with one another :) Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Start Firefox 3.5.3 Funnelcake Mar - 09, mozilla 07 - 1.0. Make sure Zonealarm Forcefield 1.5.36.15 is running. 2. Browse for any website (not compulsory) in firefox. 3. Start IE 8.0.6001.18813. It will not open even if we wait all day long. 4. Check processes in taskmanager. forcefield.exe should be visible. So would firefox.exe & iexplore.exe. 5. En process forcefield.exe. Shazam!!!! IE window pops up!!!!! Jokes apart. This is a real problem I am facing. I have tried it the other way once ie. opening IE first & then Firefox. I did not find the problem that time though. Actual Results: IE hangs & so does firefox once you have started IE Expected Results: No hangs. Smooth opening of both firefox & IE windows
This is clearly not a Mozilla bug. If ZoneLabs Forcefield is breaking Firefox and/or Internet Explorer, then the problem is with Forcefield. This is not something Mozilla (or Microsoft) can help with. If ZoneLabs' software is breaking something then please report this problem to them. I'll tell you the same thing I've told others. I hear an annoyingly high rate of complaints about Forcefield along these lines, so I personally would recommend against using it. You shouldn't need it with Firefox, anyway.

Yeah, forcefield is pretty much useless :)

We're now tracking such bugs. This doesn't mean it's something we can fix, merely something we hope to be able to point vendors to so they can investigate. This is an automated message.

Closing old bugs in the Plugins component. We aren't going to track issues in 3rd-party plugins in the Mozilla bug tracker. In addition, support for NPAPI plugins will be removed at the end of this year; for more details see the post at https://blog.mozilla.org/futurereleases/2015/10/08/npapi-plugins-in-firefox/ If there is a serious bug in Firefox, it needs to be filed in the "Core" product, "Plug-Ins" component.
