1) go to http://jetpack.stage.mozilla.com/
2) click the "About" link
3) Notice the design completely changes, along with the main navigation

That's bad, from Website No-No's 101.  The top level navigation should always stay consistent.  

Any plans on migrating the old site/design to the new design?  Or, other thoughts on how these two seemingly different sites/designs will be linked/merged together?

These two sites are separated currently for a definite reason. As we move forward with Jetpack an integration of the content on the jetpack.mozillalabs site may occur depending on the direction we take with the program.
