If you are signed-up for an event, and you click "Cancel sign up" button, you should be asked to confirm that, with something like "Are you sure you want to cancel sign up for this event?"
This was not in the original specifications for this requirement.  We can implement this, but it will be a change request.  Jay, please confirm that you want us to do so.
This is indeed an additional feature that we will look into for a future version.  Setting priority to "enhancement".
