Build Identifier:
This started when, all of a sudden, my IMAP folders disappeared. I tried to "subscribe" to them, but they didn't show up in the list of available folders to subscribe to. I tried deleting the .msf files in my Profile. I tried deleting the profile.ini file. I tried removing and readding the IMAP mailbox in question to no avail.
Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1. Add IMAP mailbox that has lots of subscribed folders.
2. Open mailbox in Thunderbird.
3. Subscribed folders don't show up, even when I go to subscribe and press Refresh.
Actual Results:
I only see my Inbox. Sometimes I don't even get Trash.
Expected Results:
I still can't access my folders on my IMAP server.
The software should have loaded my subscribed folders or at least made them visible for me so I could subscribe to them. When the Trash folder isn't there, I can't delete messages.

Hi Lynn,
What version of thunderbird are you using ?
Can you look into Tools->Error console and tell us what's in there ?
I'm running version 2.0.0.22 on Windows XP Pro.
Tools->Error console is blank.

Can you provide an imap log file as described at https://wiki.mozilla.org/MailNews:Logging ?
Component: General → Networking: IMAP
Product: Thunderbird → MailNews Core
QA Contact: general → networking.imap
Version: unspecified → 1.8 Branch
The first time I ran the commands I wound up with an empty imap.log file. The second time Thunderbird also installed updates.
During this session I tried to subscribe, tried refreshing the subscription list, and also read and then unsuccessfully tried to delete a message.
I then used File->Exit to close the Thunderbird process.

Looking at the log, you have a top-level trash folder, but it's marked /Noselect, which means it's not a useful trash. It also looks like at some point maybe the online server directory or personal namespace was set to "a2i (IMAP)" because you have a Trash folder there.
The only other folders the server tells us about are:
"saved-messages" "saved.mailbox" "Drafts" "a2i (IMAP)" "sent-mail" "Sent"
"Trash" "INBOX", and "a2i (IMAP)/JRandomFolder"
What are the names/paths of the folders you're not seeing?
There are ALOT of folders I'm not seeing. They all exist on the IMAP server in the form "~/foldername". I set the name of the server within Thunderbird to "a2i (IMAP)" to differentiate it from my other mailboxes, all of which are POP mailboxes.

The server is not telling us about them. Were you using an online server directory before? Or perhaps the namespace changed?
I had changed the namespace from "a2i (IMAP)" to "a2i" and somehow the "a2i (IMAP)" boxes keep coming back.
Oh yeah...ALL my folders were online server directories. I have logged onto the server to verify that yes, they still exist.

Lynn, are you still seeing this issue using version 3.1? (Up to this point Bienvenu didn't find anything indicating Thunderbird at fault)
