When I visit acid3.acidtests.org with the 17 October 2009 build of Minefield. It gets to random score and then the browser quits responding and I then have to force kill the browser and re-launch it. I've toggled previews=false, html5=false and jit.content=false and the browser still quits responding. This also happens in safe mode. I've managed to see it quit responding @ 27/100, 41/100 and 52/100.

This works fine for me.
The other reports @ http://forums.mozillazine.org/viewtopic.php?f=23&t=1541225 indicate this might be a Windows 7 issue only. Folks on XP (and now Vista) have been reporting it works for them.
Indeed on Windows 7 it hangs. Stopped at 21/100 here.
Depends on: 522416
It would seem that a temporary workaround would be to toggle browser.chrome.favicons to false. After I did this, I was able to get the Acid3 test to run w/o hanging.
The patch that landed from bug 522416 has fixed this problem. I will go ahead and mark this fixed.
