1. do a search in the quick searchbar
2. a new tab with the results is opened
3. click one of the results
4. a tab with the start page is opened

I can't reproduce the bug with every search, this happened only sometimes. I try to find the steps (mail has a attachment or something like that)

could you make a screenshot of this ?

Can you try to be more precises on the steps ? (could you also look into Tools-> Error console when this happens and see if there are no messages at the bottom of the list that might be relevant ?)

Tim if you start Thunderbird in safe-mode (with -sfae-mode command line) do you also have the issue ?

at this moment i can only reproduce this with one mail but i have seen it before in the past with other messages

rebuild the index of the inbox (inbox-properties-rebuild) but the issue doesn't go away (i am in safe-mode)

today i have installed the last nightly (Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; nl; rv:1.9.1.5pre) Gecko/20091020 Lightning/1.0pre Shredder/3.0pre) and deleted global-messages-db.sqlite 

now when i search (all messages) the email is not found at all anymore (yesterday the email was found but not opened)

with the add-onn glodaquilla i found that the message is indexed.

later this day when the nightly build with bug 472764 fixed is available i will try again (i hope that it is related)
