Flash objects swallow click events whole, so we need a way to be able to stop the inspector and capture a flash element's lookup string. We can't do this by clicking (single or double). Perhaps pressing 'Enter' when inspecting? Any other suggestions?
I would prefer a double key combination which is less often used and doesn't interrupt the workflow to reach an expected state. What about ctrl + esc?

I like your idea of doing a double key combo but CTRL + ESC is "start menu" on windows and will be weird for us to override. So good idea, but choose a different shortcut please. :)
Hah. That's true. Haven't thought about that. Mmh, so what about Shift+Esc? I can't see anything which would block us on that shortcut.
Summary: Should be able to stop inspector with a keypress → [IDE] Should be able to stop inspector with a keypress
We have dropped support for the Mozmill IDE in the upcoming Mozmill 2.0 release. Therefore it finally has been removed from the extension by bug 791625. Closing the bug as WONTFIX.
