Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.9.1.5pre) Gecko/20091021 Shredder/3.0pre

The address book on this shredder omits several address books and will only display the 'Personal Address Book'

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1.Click on Address Book Icon
2.Note: Books are missing
3.
Actual Results:
Several Books are missing from the file list

Expected Results:
All books listed by other versions should be available

Fortunately all my address books are still intact and can be opened in other vwersions
You should provide more information, e.g.:

-you use shared AB?
-AB is located in "strange" path (e.g. USB disk etc)
-AB is disappair after you have upgrade from 2.x to 3.x?

I have checked the latest night;y release Oct 23
It is the same as previous releases.
You obviously have a major error.
Please advise me when it is fixed as I cannot run shredder until I can get my address lists!
Kurt how we can test this issue? You can attach here an AB example (using above link "Add an attachment") and provide a closely STR (step to reproduce)?

Here I don't have any problem with my 5 AB.
kurt could be related (or dupe) to bug #366457

We are still not communicating well with each other!
I have not reported a Data loss from the address book!
I have explained The address book is intact but cannot be read properly by the current shredder whereas some previous shredders could read it and v2.0.0.23 still can.
The steps are clock on address book to open it.
Note that the only book which is shown is the Personal AB.
For some reason Shredder can't read my ABs. They were originally imported from Outlook
Two of the books have identical names (done by the importing method).
Can this be affedting shredder?

Ok, well I change your wrong title to one a little bit better... and I hope that this time I understand. ;-)

Kurt can you determine a regression range for your problem?
Summary: Address Book looses several address books → Can't read several old address books

Let's try this again.
The problem has nothing to do with 'Old Address Books'!
It is quite simply that Shredder cannot read existing address books whereas Thunderbird v2.0.0.23 can read them.
Shredder can only find one of the ABs namely Personal Address Book. But the program can only read a limited number of addresses and omits all the other ones that are in that address book.
As previous versions of Shredder were able to read all address books it is unlikely that the problem lies within my operating system or computer, there must be a fault with the latest version of shredder.

Ok Kurt, for us "old" and "existing" is the same... but now I change the title.

As requested in comment #6 and comment #7 can you provide a regression range?
Summary: Can't read several old address books → Can't read in TB 3.x several existing address books in TB 2.x
A regression range may be useful, but what would be more useful is an example address book that can be reading in Thunderbird 2.x but not Shredder.

Hello,

(First of all, my TB is in French, sorry for the wrong terms I have used.)

I have exactly the same problem with a fresh upgrade from the latest 2.x (2.0.0.23 ?) to the very new 3.0 version (December, 8th).
I do not use "Personnal address book" at all, so I cannot tell for this one (neither for "Collected address"), but all my (other) existing address books are gone... Well, not exactly gone:
* they ARE available from the left sidebar when I am writting a message
* they ARE available with autocompletion when directly typing an address in the field
* they are NOT *viewable* by opening Address Book
* they are NOT viewable/modifiable by right clicking on a contact in the Contacts sidebar (when in writing mode)

Actually, address books stayed intact, but they are not accessible.

But... BUT! But I have just updated the extension MoreFunctionsForAddressBook (23/12/2009 : 0.5.6.2 version of MoreFunctionsForAddressbook) (I am sorry I do not know what was the previous version I used...), and ALL functions are BACK!!!
I hope it was the same for all others of you who experienced the problem.

Nevertheless, thanks to the community for great softwares and great support :)
