Dup of Bug 505949(fixed by Tb3.0rc1)?
Can you reproduce problem with newest build?

There is no Thunderbird version for Solaris platform as latest as that for Linux.I have tried this bug on the latest Thunderbird build for Linux,http://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/mozilla.org/thunderbird/nightly/latest-comm-1.9.1/thunderbird-3.0pre.en-US.linux-i686.tar.bz2.
The situation on Linux is :
1.Junk can't be created by the new arrival Junk messages if there is no Junk folder in your account
2.Junk folder can be created by "Edit->Account setting->Junk->check "move new junk message..."->OK
3.When Junk folder is created,the new arrival junk message can be automatically moved to Junk folder

On this Thunderbird build for Solaris ,http://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/mozilla.org/thunderbird/nightly/contrib/latest-comm-1.9.1/thunderbird-3.0b4pre.en-US.solaris2.11-sparc.tar.bz2

The situation is much worse than above which is on Linux:
1.Junk can't be created by the new arrival Junk messages if there is no Junk
folder in your account
2.Junk folder can't be created by "Edit->Account setting->Junk->check "move new
junk message..."->OK

The problem with this build (not your fault) is that it is actually older than 3.0b4 which you reported this bug with.

For some reason, the solaris boxes that do the builds haven't been reporting to the tinderbox tree for ages - probably since that build was produced. So unless we can get an updated build (Emily?), I'm not sure what we can do here.
