When in Edit/Preferences/General I switch alert.wav (from pidgin) as a default alarm sound for new email notification, I get no sound whatsoever when I click Play button. When pavucontrol is running the new sound doesn't even show on its display.
Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1.Edit/Preferences/General/When new message arrive/Play a sound/Use the following soundfile
2.Click Play button
3.
Actual Results:
no sound

should play as promised

Here we are
a lengthier sound file, so that it can more easy listened.

I don't know what you're trying to post here, but setting flags probably isn't the thing to do initially.

I can play wav sound with Thunderbird 3.1.2 on Linux Ubuntu 10.04, so I think this bug could be closed.
However, I have some issue with system sound, but I think this is another bug...
