Text fields in today's build appear to allow data to be entered, but that data is not passed on to the code so it is as though nothing was entered. This appears to have been broken by new XBL in nbhatla's checkin last night.

Yup I just confirmed this in my tree. Without the new XBL widget set that Nhikil landed last night everything works fine in my tree.

This one is fixed. There was a binding on textfield which extended the one in xulBindings.xml. The properties, including .value, from this binding were not inherited... I have to talk to Hyatt about extending chrome bindings with skins, because unexpected things like this happen when you do that.
