User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 6.1; en-US; rv:1.9.1.4) Gecko/20091016 Firefox/3.5.4 Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 6.1; en-US; rv:1.9.1.4) Gecko/20091016 Firefox/3.5.4 PDF files are not properly created by Firefox when attempt to print and printer selected is Adobe PDF (running ver. Acrobat 9.0). All lines are truncated and print only as abnormally narrowed (excessively wide margins, with information beyond margins lost). Lines are truncated and the page width is greatly shortened so that lines that otherwise fill a full page when viewed as HTML in the browser only print the first few characters, generating PDF's numerous (narrow) pages even when the original document is only a short 1 page. It would appear that erroneous header information is being passed that fails to set up page margins correctly or correctly size the page. All pages printed are viewed with very large magnification factors (eg. ~ 800%)and with numerous (usually greater than 20-50 pages) pages even for very short documents. Although this problem has appeared on my system (Dell XPS 1330 laptop) upon upgrade to Windows7 and to Acrobat 9.0, everything was running fine on a previous version of Firefox running on this machine under Windows Vista and using Acrobat 8.0. This is a firefox problem as PDF's correctly Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Generate an HTML page in browser 2. Select Print 3. Select Printer Adobe PDF 4. Get truncated lines
Please update to acrobat 9.2 or later and try with that. Also give a link that gives this
Successfully updated to Acrobat 9.2 but problem persists. Tried to print Adobe download page as example, but continue to get a narrow, truncated printing. Not sure of what you mean by a "link that gives this". Please advise how I can send/make available an example of a corrupted output file so that the source of the problem can be more explicitly reported and identified. NB. In the original post I failed to mention that the problem not occur when I try generating a PDF file using Internet Explorer, so it would appear to be FireFox specific (no option to print PDF with Google Chrome; I know to little about other browsers to comment on similar behavior elsewhere). Appreciate the response.
Perhaps adding the test file to the box "File" above provides the information you request.
Stuart, how is this behaving for you with firefox 3.6 or 4.0 beta? with current trunk, I get just a blank page in print preview.

Stuart, are you still seeing this issue? With the latest Nightly (build ID: 20130818030219) on a Windows 7 32bit machine, I don't see any faulty behavior after following these steps: 1. open inline http://www.education.gov.yk.ca/pdf/pdf-test.pdf 2. click on the "print" button 3. check the "print to file" checkbox and then press "OK" 4. give the output file name and press "OK" again Results: the .pdf is saved in the Firefox installation folder
