User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; it; rv:1.9.1.1) Gecko/20090715 Firefox/3.5.1 (.NET CLR 3.5.30729) Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; it; rv:1.9.1.1) Gecko/20090715 Firefox/3.5.1 (.NET CLR 3.5.30729) I use the version 3.5.1 of this browser because when I have istalled version 3.5.2 3.5.3 and 3.5.4 they don't work: after the install, I try to start the browser but it don't start without any error; just don't start. Then I reinstall version 3.5.1 and all work fine! Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Install version 3.5.2, 3.5.3 or 3.5.4 2. Try to run the browser 3. It don't start and it don't give any message, just don't start... 4. Reinstall version 3.5.1 and all work fine Actual Results: It don't start and it don't give any message, just don't start... Expected Results: I'd like to use version 3.5.4 It don't start and it don't give any message, just don't start...

Having same problem. FF 3.5.5 DID work but stopped working suddenly. Did a full uninstall/ clean reinstall. No joy. Installed 3.6beta to see if the new v. fixed the problem. No joy. FF 3.5.5 nor 3.6beta would start through the START menu on Windows Vista 64 bit... BUT FF 3.6beta DOES start (most of the time) when I double click on the Google Desktop icon... FF will load only through the Google Desktop. I can then browse normally, save tabs etc. Here are a few of the videos of the problem: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3xlUtUUEi-k http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ekljmzq3ELw http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_Ar8cYadkOM http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gZxeGrryUSg http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vgVHQlBn-q0 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r0HUzf1mwGQ

(In reply to comment #3) > can you follow the steps matti gave above? Specifically, create a new profile? Windows Vista wouldn't allow me to start the profile tool which told me I had bigger problems... with Windows Vista... I never use IE but then I tested IE. IE8 _ALSO_ had problems starting. I logged in as super user/admin and both IE and FF 3.6beta start fine. FF3.6beta felt much faster. So... I think this is a Vista problem for users without admin rights. Here's the video showing the POSSIBLE culprit on the Windows side: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kr9SA6fqzUI (I'm not sure why users with no admin rights cannot use FF 3.5 or IE8 on their windows vista (WV) 64bit machines but the problems APPEAR to have started after WV installed KB915597 def 1.71.26.0 approx. two days ago) I realize this bug was first posted long before I had this problem but the problems appear identical. Same OS, 64bit, same behavior.
(In reply to comment #4) CORRECTION: User did have admin rights! Going to test another user with admin rights. > (In reply to comment #3) > > can you follow the steps matti gave above?
