At this point, because we switched to mercurial, the original build scripts are pain, as they imply having lots of other tools around (including bits which are no longer in the same source code repository as CZ itself). James said Glen has a Python script around. I'd like to get that into the repo ASAP, if at all possible. Glen?
This is the copy of makexpi.py which I use. It might be slightly modified, I'm not sure any more.

I noticed in the diff for another bug that Gijs had added a unix shbang for python to the top of makexpi.py - its probably worth adding this via this bug. And with makelocalexpi.sh being deleted, does that mean we need a python version of that too?

I deleted it because I was pretty sure whatever was in there didn't work anymore. If it's easy enough to write a new one that has correct behaviour, go for it. :-) As for the sha-bang, I'll just add it... I mean, it's not really worth having a separate patch just for that :-)
