I use a lot of filters and folders (>50). Lately TB refuses to let me edit a filter either by double click or edit button. No messages are produced. Filter window just locks up and looses focus. Pressing escape restores focus and action but any editing attempt locks it up again. Most of my filters are pretty simple but a few have multiple conditional operands. I can create a new filter with the "Create filter from message" option on the Message pull-down menu but once created I cannot change it.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1.Open filter window
2.Select a filter
3.Double-click it or press Edit button.
4.Filter window looses focus and is unusable.
5.Press Esc and focus is restored.
Actual Results:
Filter window "New" and "Edit" buttons inoperative.

Expected Results:
Edit window should have opened for selected filter.

Only installed add-on is Lightning. I think the theme is default. The only thing on the error console is the warning: Warning: Calendar moz-profile-calendar:// has a dangling E-Mail identity configured.

I have no idea what that means.

Are the filters that cannot be edited "match all" filters, that is without any search terms?

If so, this is bug 514945.

If not, then I need to see a copy of the file "msgFilterRules.dat" to diagnose this.
The editing problem (original bug) seems to have gone away since V3 installed but there are new problems, perhaps as designed but still not good. The list doesn't update after a new filter is created, the list never did sort in any way, and I've lost the ability to search the list by entering a leading character or two. These may qualify as new bugs or "features" but overall V3 has been a bit disappointing.
"The list doesn't update" it does for me, that should be a new bug if you can confirm.

"list never did sort in any way" We've had requests for this before, but I've never understood this, as the order of filters can be important. The root problem is that it is difficult to manage a list of lots and lots of filters, that I can appreciate.

"I've lost the ability to search the list by entering a leading character or two" I've also heard this before, not sure if in a bug or support forum. Could not find a bug, let me add one. Bug 543239
